Position: Project Coordinator – JEWSI project

Location: SCDI office, House number 9, 165/30 Thai Ha Street, Dong Da District, Hanoi, Vietnam

Working time: Fulltime

Salary and benefit: Negotiable salary based on the capacity and the regulation of SCDI

Report to: Project Manager/Supporting Community Networks & LGBTIQ program manager

 

Responsibility: 

The Project Coordinator will work in close collaboration with SCDI’s project team and partners in Vietnam and Laos to ensure that all activities are well implemented to achieve the project goal and objectives, and most efficient use of resources. Tasks include (but not limited to):

  • Participate in developing project’s work plan and budget of SCDI component;

  • Receive, review and consolidate the work plan and budget of all partners;

  • Review monthly with each partner on the project activities;

  • Organize the quarterly meetings with LGBTIQ+ Alliance; 

  • Organize the quarterly meetings, ad-hoc meetings with partners and necessary meeting (if needed); 

  • Review/comment the quarterly, bi-annually and yearly financial reports of partners; Review/comment and consolidate the narrative reports of partners; timely provide feedbacks to solve/report problems and improve the project quality;

  • Coordinate and support the project team and partners to timely and duly implement activities and work plan;

  • Coordinate the field visits to project site to monitor project implementation and provide technical assistance;

  •  Provide technical support to project team and partners regarding project implementation procedures;

  • Participate all the meetings with donor and follow-up requirements/discussions; 

  • Liaise with regional, national and local stakeholders to foster collaboration and promote project activities;

  • Prepare project necessary documents and reports to project manager and the donor; 

  • Participate in relevant activities of the Supporting Community Networks & LGBTIQ program and SCDI when required.

Knowledge and skills required: 

  • At least 5 years of work experience in social work, development project or LGBTIQ+ areas, with experience in LGBTIQ+ related interventions;

  • Education on a bachelor or master level preferably in social work, public health, management or other social sciences;    

  • Experience in programme planning, design, follow-up, report writing, monitoring and evaluation of the projects; 

  • Experience in conduct project reports in Vietnamese and English;

  • Demonstrated strong ability and experience in coordinating project activities;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of LGBTIQ+ and vulnerable groups that SCDI is working with (people living with HIV, sex workers, drug users, children and youth, etc.);

  • Organizational and problem-solving skills;

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Project/program coordinating skill;

  • Ability to work independently or in a team and with diverse groups of stakeholders and partners;

  • High responsibility, resourcefulness, ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities;

  • Professional proficiency in Vietnamese and English (both written and oral) is a must (*); 

  • Excellent in Word, Excel, Power Point and other internet-based working tools.

(*) This position requires daily use of written and oral English communication at advanced level.

Other requirements:

  • Willing to travel to project provinces in Vietnam and Laos.

  • No stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV, drug users and other vulnerable groups.
